ORBITAL SYSTEMS is one of the fastest growing international clean-tech companies in the world. It was born with a vision to change the way we use and relate to water by becoming the leader in domestic water savings...starting with a state-of-the-art water saving shower.
When we use water, we waste water. Legacy shower systems are simply unsustainable, both for the planet and an organization’s bottom line. These can waste up to eight liters (two gallons) of water per minute, turning a 10-minute shower into a monumental loss of some 76 liters (20 gallons) of water. Orbital Systems is on a mission to change that.
Based on our founder’s work with NASA, we used Space Certified Technology and created an ingenious water saving shower system that purifies and recycles water. We are at the forefront of a new paradigm in daily water use by helping users save thousands of dollars every year in water and energy costs.
Our newest version, the Orbital Shower provides users with a luxury experience, showering them with up to 30% more clean, fresh water - while wasting up to 90% less water and 80% less energy with every use. The Orbital Shower not only helps users save money, it helps protect one of our most precious resources, exemplifying our commitment to the environment and premium user comfort in one smart move.
In the latest move to become a global leader in domestic water savings, Orbital Systems raised $19M from a group of investors, including Skype Founder Niklas Zennström and Tesla Motors’ former CPO and VP of Supply Chain, Peter Carlsson, who also joined the company as a board member and Executive Director of Operations.
We’ve already saved nearly 13 million liters (3.4 million gallons) of water across Europe and we intend to disrupt conventional water systems in the Americas, starting with the US. We recently landed in the Bay Area with an office in Sausalito, CA and are in the process of establishing a strong team of smart and passionate people who can get behind our vision.
This is the beginning of our blog posts, from now on we will write about topics that we feel are interesting and related to our vision.
